Where do I get my inspiration from?! Today’s post addresses that burning question. Many people ask me, “How do you do it?!” I simply answer, “By looking around at nature that catches my eye.” I guess you could say, I look at colors from a Stampin’ Up! point of view. The picture below was taken of a simple tissue box that I came across at work in the nurse’s office of all places!
As I found myself daydreaming about the things that I needed to check off on my To Do List…the tissue box was staring me straight in the face.
I looked at the leaves pondering the Summer Silhouettes leaf image and decided I must stamp something with it. After all, the box design was essentially done for me.
Using Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake, I went about using a stamping technique called stamping off to make a background paper.
Stamping Off Technique: Ink up your stamp and stamp your image. Do NOT re-ink. Stamp again in a different spot on your cardstock.
Your Stamping Teacher Tips:
- Always stamp on your Grid Paper. After all, if you are not happy with the outcome, you haven’t wasted our precious Whisper White cardstock on a miss-stamp.
- Keep your focal point simple so that you don’t overwhelm the overall theme.
- Be sure to stamp off the edges of the cardstock for a finished look.
