Garden In Bloom – Catalog CASE

My mission is to always try and make simple cards!  I found this card on page 139 of the Annual Catalog and set about to recreate it!  In case you missed it, (CASE, Copy And Share Everything)

Of course, I don’t have the Blooms and Wishes stamp set, yet!  But I wanted to challenge myself to use something in my collection that would be similar.  I had to make a baby card and don’t have any of the baby stamps!

139The flower from Blooms and Wishes was similar to the flower from Garden in Bloom.  Don’t be afraid to check out your collection of stamps to see if you have something that would work.

I also grabbed my Banners For You stamp set as that had some leaves and dots that were perfect for the look I was trying to achieve.  The Congratulations On Your New Arrival came from the Better Together stamp set.  Check that one out because there are sentiments for many special occasions.

Big News! Baby Card Idea!

Big News! Baby Boy Card!

One of my favorite papers in the 2015 Occasions Catalog is the Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper on page 39.

Pairing it with the Something for Baby Stamp Set and Big News Stamp Set are great for making easy cards.

Christine’s Tips:

    • Flip over the Designer Series Paper for the girl version.
    • I love the rubber ducky from Something For Baby.  It even has a Framelit to match.
    • The colors are Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, and Sahara Sand.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that combination.

Wish Big With Work Of Art!

Wish Big with Work Of Art!

Work Of Art and Wish Big

I am trying my hardest to not get caught up with the holiday hoopla, just yet!  After all, it is only September even though some decorations are up already. GEEZ!

Your Stamping Teacher Tips:

  • I kept this card simple.  Remember, when you need a quick card, you don’t have to spend alot of time.
  • The “Wish Big” sentiment could be switched out for “It’s A Boy!”
  • The sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts!  Lots of great words for your cards.
  • The stars are from the Star Framelits!  I guarantee you will find many projects to add them to.

Your Stamping Teacher Owl Scrap Page

Every once in a while, I get commissioned to do a scrapbook page for a client.  This is where I can use retired paper that I have laying around that I don’t plan on using for clubs and classes.

Notice the details:

  • Each owl’s bib uses the color of the Halloween costume.
  • The owl’s eyes at the bottom mirror the mask by the baby.
  • I used My Digital Studio to create the name plate at the top.
  • All the colors coordinate around the costume and the background.  I like to take my cue from the pictures when matching my card stock and papers.

Stampin’ Supplies:

All supplies are current, except, the Designer Series Paper, and the green in one of the owl’s bibs.

Six Sided Sampler

Sometimes, once I start playing with a NEW stamp set, I just can’t seem to put it down and at other times, I get a case of stamper’s block!  Are you one of those kinds of stampers?   Lucky for me, I will typically walk away from the project and come back to it later.  In my studio, you will actually see many works in progress.  Cards that seem to be in various stages of unfinishedness!  We all experience it at one point or another.

Today’s cards are just samples using the Six Sided Sampler stamp set along with Petite Pairs and Baby Prints.

Six Sided Sampler

I made two cards, each the same layout, however, for the Soft Sky (boy) card, I just changed out the flower from the Pink Pirouette  (girl) card for the star.  Because I made an inking boo-boo between the feet on the Soft Sky card, I popped up Welcome Baby with the small oval punch.
