Paper Piecing Technique and Video!

What is paper piecing?! It is a fun technique using an outline stamp and Designer Series Paper to jazz up your creation.  Be sure to view the video I created for this card using the Sale A Bration Designer Series Paper and the Best of Birthdays stamp sets.

Best Of Birthdays

Paper piecing is a technique that makes more of your stamps. It is very easy to do and gives your stamped images a makeover.

Your Stamping Teacher Tips:   When paper piecing, always cut along outside edge of the the black line image. You want to keep the image intact when adhering it to the stamped image underneath.  For added interest, I drew some dots to show that the presents are hopping!  That helps ground the presents instead of floating in mid air.

Your Stamping Teacher Tip:  For added interest, pop up your paper pieced image on a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Another Best Of Birthday Project….

When I received this set at Leadership during the Prize Patrol, I started thinking of all the different cards I could make with it.  It seems I am always sending a birthday card and I like to have a stash of them on hand.

Using the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper really helps make Quick and Easy cards that are very simple.   The patterns all coordinate and they go together quite well.

Best Of Birthdays

When you decide on the stamps you want to use, the next set is picking the Designer Series Paper. Once you have the Designer Series Paper picked out, look at your colors on the back of the package and pick out your card stock accordingly.

More Best Of Birthdays!

The other day, I posted a card, that was my take on the Best Of Birthday cards shown at Leadership.  Today,  I wanted to show you another image from that set.

I paired it with the bright and colorful Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper from the FREE Sale A Bration offerings.  Do you remember the Merry Mini Punch Pack from the Holiday Catalog?  Those little darlings are still available for purchase and since I was scouring my studio for some stars, thought they might be the perfect embellishment for this celebration card.  I paired them with some rhinestones and Voila!, a fabulous birthday card for either a man or woman.

Lovely As A Tree

Do you remember your first stamp set?   The ever-popular, Lovely As A Tree is my first Stampin’ Up! stamp set and has been a staple in my inventory for years.  Pairing it with new sentiments and Designer Series Paper (DSP), is always fun and exciting, along with techniques is a wonderful way to use this very versatile set.

Lovely As A Tree

Did you know that the images in this set can be used for many things? For example, I paired the mighty oak image for use as a masculine card shown above.  Does this card look fussy?!  No way!  Just some stamping, embossing with the Big Shot, and tearing technique.  Just layer each element onto the cardstock, add Stampin’ Dimensionals for a popped effect, and add some manly details, like our NEW Basic Designer Buttons threaded with our Linen Thread.  Add a touch of color spritzer and Voila!  This card SCREAMS masculine!

Many of the other images can be used for holidays, sympathy, thinking of you, and of course, techniques involving seasonal change.  Here are some past Lovely As A Tree cards from my previous blog. I know this set has been around a long time, however,  there is always something new and fresh about his set that one never tires of.  So, the next time you see yourself with crafting brain-freeze, be sure to take out this set and play with it.  You will never know, just what you might find in your
