Big On You-Father’s Day! Stampin’ Up!

Big On You- Father’s Day! Stampin’ Up!

Father's Day 6

Father’s Day will be here and I got started a little early.  You know how those days creep up on you and before you know it, BAM, the day is here and you forgot to send the card out.

I know most of you struggle with masculine cards, but I find them easy to do because of the clean and simple nature of them.  No glitter or fancy schmancy embellishments.

You could purchase the supplies in my ONLINE STORE or you can purchase the card in my ETSY shop.

Christine’s Tips:

  • Be sure to sponge the edges of each word.  It really makes them POP!
  • Use your small Banner punch to add a flag end on the Father’s Day sentiment.  Just a little something different.

Masculine Balloon Bash!

MASCULINE Balloon Bash!

Are you always searching for masculine card ideas and usually come up empty handed?  One of the creative ways to get that masculine look is to use stamping techniques and a larger main sentiment stamped image.

While I used a loose version of the Retiform Technique, I strayed a bit with my sponge daubers and created a mixed media background using Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry.

Christine’s Tips:

    • Do not use more than three colors to prevent a muddy effect.
    • Keep your sentiment bold and large.  It balances nicely with the background.
    • Do not add floral embellishments.  Remember, it is a MANLY card.
    • Balloon Bash is going away.  So grab that stamp set now before it’s too late.

Balloon Bash Birthday!

Balloon Bash Birthday!

One of the things I love about this set is the ability to make your own background paper.  The best part, most people, that are in the know, don’t know which side is the stamped side.  I test drove this card and asked some people who are not familiar with stamping and they ALL agreed, they weren’t sure.
Balloon Bash-Christine PyrchThis color palette of Bermuda Bay and Night Of Navy is a sure hit with me this season.  This set and the colors  make for a great gender neutral birthday card idea.

Christine’s Tips:

    • Don’t have a coordinating ribbon?  Use a narrow strip of cardstock over the separation between the two papers.
    • I cut my Happy Birthday off of the main HB image.  This way I could use a different ink color.
    • The Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper has some perfect designs to make masculine cards.  Be sure to check them out here.
