Crazy About You!

Crazy About You!

Today I am showcasing a Sympathy Card using Delightful Dijon and Elegant Eggplant. While these two colors would not be a go-to combination, I came across a set of napkins on my sister’s table and thought about the two colors together. Do you ever look at colors through Stampin’ Up’s! eyes? I do ALL the time.

purplesympathyChristine’s Tips:

  • Start with the Delightful Dijon ink and stamp the leaf image across the bottom.
  • With the Elegant Eggplant, stamp across the bottom filling in between the Delightful Dijon leaves.
  • Add your sentiment in Elegant Eggplant ink.
  • Stamp the coordinating flowers and add pearls.

Tips For Making Sympathy Cards – Helping Me Grow – Stampin’ Up!

Tips for Making Sympathy Cards – Helping Me Grow – Stampin’ Up!

It makes me ultra sad when I have to make a sympathy card for someone who has recently lost a loved one!  If you are like me, you want it to convey your thoughts exactly without being over the top.

While no one wants to have sympathy cards on hand, it really is wise to make a few ahead of time.  I know it may seem morbid, but when your thoughts are with the recipient, the last thing you think about is making a card.

Tips On Making Sympathy Cards:

  • Now is not the time to go overboard! Keep embellishments to an absolute minimum.
  • The card should focus on your thoughts and words.
  • No cutesy cards at this time.  Flowers are great, but the cards should be simple and elegant.
  • Stick with a soft color scheme.  Loud colors should be reserved for birthdays, graduations and other happy events.
  • At a loss for words for your handmade sympathy card?  No worries here!  Hallmark  and the Cardstore have some great ideas.

Of course, you can always leave the inside blank and write your own message.  Adding a stamped phrase just adds to the personal tone of your card.

Flower Power!

Whoo Hooo!   Summer break  is here!

Got out of bed and just enjoyed the stillness of the  morning while enjoying my coffee with my husband, knowing that I don’t have to be somewhere on someone else’s schedule.

The Flower Shop bundle can be seen here. Love that you can purchase the punch AND the stamp set together for 15% discount!

Your Stamping Teacher Tip:

There is a trick to mounting the stamps so that you can perfectly punch and line up the images.  Do you want me to shoot a video on that?  Let me know and I will get one up this week!  You must email me at christine@christinepyrch.com or leave a comment on this post.

This card is earmarked for a sympathy.  I think the sentiment from Word Play works well.

Just Believe!

I had to send a sympathy card and really did not think that bright colors were the way to go.   In this instance,  I took out the Just Believe stamp set and set to work on coloring the image with my markers.  Using Riding Hood Red and Island Indigo, along with Lucky Limeade,  I stamped the larger image onto Whisper White.  The Designer Series Paper is Twitterpated.   The sympathy sentiment is from Petite Pairs.
