Another Totally Trees!

Totally Trees!

When I get a NEW stamp set, one of the things on my agenda is to see how many ways I can use it.  Otherwise it wouldn’t be versatile.  I know that word is thrown around alot these days.  Everyone wants to get their money’s worth.  I am no different.

thinking-of-youAs you know, I love a clean and simple look to my cards.  Putting just two colors together, really makes this wonderful little set incredible.  Basic Gray and Bermuda Bay.  Thinking Of You cards are perfect to send for just because, get well and even your sympathies.

This gorgeous card makes quite a statement and it takes no time at all to complete.

Thoughtful Banners

Thoughtful Banners

Hi Papercrafters!  It has been a nice break to not blog!  Now that summer is here, I can channel my efforts into posting more often.

Creating is more in line with what I love to do.  While I don’t really mind the administrative end of this business, my Etsy Shop takes up alot of my time and so do my honeybees, garden…you get the idea.

Stampin’ Up! came out with a NEW stamp set called Thoughtful Banners.

I used the NEW 2016-2017 In Colors to create this fabulous little sentiment on the front of the card.  While I did not use the coordinating punches below, this set is bundled for 10% discount as shown below.  The stamp set also coordinates with the Classic Label further down the page.

To add and interesting border, I grabbed the doodle stamp from Tin Of Cards and used that around the edges in the Archival Black.

I am loving the NEW In Colors, they are so fresh and fun.  I know you will like them as well.

Clean and Simple Water-coloring With Reinkers!

Clean and Simple Watercoloring With Reinkers!

As you can see by my stamp choices, I am totally loving this FREE stamp set,  Field Flowers from the Sale A Bration catalog.  With only just over a week left of this yearly sale, I wanted to squeeze in the cards that I was recently making. I am becoming slightly obsessed with watercoloring.  Perhaps I may even add an In Studio class in the Spring for local attendees!  What do you think?!

Just the other day, I posted this card using a watercoloring technique.  I added the water and the color separately, letting each color dry before I put on a different color.  I even hastened the drying time with my heat tool.  Yes, you can do that!

Watercoloring FieldYou Try It:

  • I started in the middle with Tip Top Taupe.  In this case, I did not overwater the area.  I simply added a very small amount of ink from my reinker and gently spread it around.  Let it dry.  Lost Lagoon is to the left and Mint Macaron is to the right.
  • Use your heat tool to hasten the drying time.
  • That sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit.  I fell in love with the fonts and bought the kit just for that stamp set.  Hehe!  Sometimes I do that!
  • Those little sequins were pulled out of a past Paper Pumpkin Kit.  One of the best all inclusive kits on the market today gets even better for April.  To celebrate, the April Paper Pumpkin kit will include a bonus stamp set called All about Everything. Stampin’ Up! is keeping the art a surprise, but we know you’ll love EVERYTHING about it! This is just our little way of saying thank you to our amazing subscribers. Subscribe by April 10 to get in on the fun!

Thinking Of You With Grateful Bunch!

Thinking Of You With Grateful Bunch!

This Occasions Catalog has been my most favorite to date!  I’ve been at this Stampin’ Up! thing for almost ten (10) years and I have to say it seems to get better than ever each year.  Honestly, as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I guess you could say that I should feel exhilarated with each catalog, but some years, it just doesn’t do it for me.  For example, this past Holiday Catalog wasn’t feeling the love for me!  Okay!  I said it!  One thing you won’t find me saying is that I love everything in all catalogs.

I don’t know about you, but I go to the bundles right away!  I LOVE to see what my 15% discount will get me on top of my 25% discount for being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  Now you are probably thinking to yourself, “I don’t get 25%?!”  I only get 20% discount on purchases.  Well, I will tell you that my title allows me that extra 5%.  I’ve earned it!  If you are a Bronze Elite or above, your discount is 25%!

yello gratefulThe card above features the Grateful Bunch Bundle and the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Pack.  One of the things that I noticed about this card, is the little sheen with this color.  At first I thought it was Basic Gray, but I think it appears to be Silver.

Using the Archival Basic Black ink, I stamped the flower image and then colored it in with my Crushed Curry marker.  Punching them out, adding a dimensional and then a little rhinestone to the center completes the look.

The “Thinking Of You” is from the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set which has some wonderful sentiments to add to your cards.

In case you didn’t know…?  Stampin’ Up! includes a list of all the colors from that Designer Series Paper pack.  It is easy to find what you need on a moment’s notice.

ButterflysAre you looking for some creative ways to use your scrap pieces of paper?

Here are 10 ideas to help you get started!

  1. Punch some paper using your small punches.  Make confetti!
  2. If you are a scrapbooker, punch small pieces and use them as embellishments and accents for your pages.  Remember your cards as well.
  3. If you have pieces that you can cut into 3 x 6, use them to make gift tags and/or cards.
  4. Line your envelopes using Stampin’ Up’s! Envelope Framelit.
  5. Shred some of it and use it to add to your super cute little boxes made with the Stampin’ Up! Gift Box Punch Board!
  6. Do you have the Big Shot?  Die cut letters using any die for your cards or scrapbook pages.  Make a alphabet garland using a large alphabet and coordinating printed paper.

  8. Easter is coming!  If you set a table, make some napkin rings with your Spring paper.  Use it to add a seating tag!

Kraft and Black

This card is super elegant and a tad rustic in feel.  This is one of those color combinations that works very well, Crumb Cake, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.

One more thing, I used Stampin’ Up’s NEW Archival Black Ink to stamp these images!  Take my word for it, it is the BOMB! It stamps BEAUTIFULLY!

Christine’s Tips:

  • The sentiment is from two different stamp sets.  Endless Birthday Wishes and Crazy About You!
  • Be sure to mix your sentiments!
  • The Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper is wonderful for an extra layer.  It is very thin and doesn’t allow for alot of bulk.

That’s it!  I hope you enjoyed this card today!  Please leave me a message and let me know what you think!  I always love to hear from you!

Just For You-Botanicals For You

Botanicals For You-Just For You-Stampin’ Up!

BIG, BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL!  That describes this card perfectly.  Handwritten bold fonts are super trendy at this time and these colors scream Spring to me.

Sometimes the best cards are the ones you get inspiration from in the catalogs!  Isn’t that why we have them?  One thing I love about this card is the bright and colorful inks that were used.

Just For YouChristine’s Tips:

  • Don’t be afraid of color.  Using the Archival Black Ink with these beautiful colors really makes them POP!  I used Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Mint Macaron.  I got the color combination from the It’s My Party Enamel Dots in the Occasions Catalog.  You will want a package of those, I guarantee it!!!

The stamp set I used can be earned by simply placing a $50 order in my ONLINE STORE!

Vintage Leaves

Vintage Leaves Stampin’ Up!

Diagonal Leaves

By the looks of things here in southern New England, you wouldn’t know that Fall is knocking on our doorstep.  Aside from the stressed out trees with lack of water that are shedding their leaves, it is in the 80’s today and will be during this week.

It seems that I have latched onto this great stamp set and spent most of the weekend in my studio using it to create this month’s club projects and monthly stamping classes projects.

If you don’t already have the framelit dies, don’t miss the “Bundle and Save” 15% discount on theVintage Leaves Set. The best part is that I simply despise having to fussy cut anything.  I love it when Stampin’ Up! pairs a framelit or a punch with a stamp set.

Christine’s Tips:

  • Don’t forget to stamp your envelope for that special touch.
  • Keep “Thinking Of You” cards on hand.  They are perfect for sending for sympathy and just because.
  • Bundling stamps and framelits or punches, saves 15%.

These stamps are easy to work with and I can’t wait to work on some traditional scrapbook pages.

Just Because Flower Shop-Stampin’ Up!

Flower Shop Just Because

I think we ALL go through a creative slump at times when it comes to stamping.  Especially when family priorities take center stage.  One of the current du jour slogans going around is creative constipation.  I have had my preorder for a couple of weeks and the HORRORS, it has been sitting there feeling quite unloved.  Not even one newsletter has gone out to the folks who follow me.  Yikes!

Also, the weather has been terrific in these parts of Connecticut, so after a less than stellar winter, all I want to do is go outside and enjoy the sunshine and tend to the honeybees.

You're In My thoughtsDon’t you love it when you have an idea and it works perfectly?!  I do and this is the end result.  These Designer Series Papers are from two sets, the grid is from Moonlight, (retiring & on sale), the Stacked With Love is in the Occasions Catalog.

InsideDon’t forget to stamp the inside of your cards.  Recently, I have begun to do it for my Etsy Shop and I suddenly feel that I’ve completed the card.

If you need to purchase any supplies used on the above card, you can click on the pictures below.
