Old Meets New!

Lovely As A Tree!
Lovely As A Tree

Your Stamping Teacher Tips:

  • Using one of the images from Work of Art, I stamped in Soft Suede and re-stamped without re inking two more times to create an ombre look.
  • Embossing the tree with black embossing powder makes it POP!
  • Oops!  I noticed a little tear on the left side.  Sorry about that!
  • I suppose I could have kept it to a clean layer, but I added a little dimension by lifting the birthday sentiment up and making a banner.

A quick share using the I Am Me Designer Series Paper , Flower Shop Bundle and the Four You Stamp Set!

Now that I am looking at this photo a little bit longer, it seems to me to be a little out of focus.  Sorry about that!  Do you see it also?!

Your Stamping Teacher Tips:

  • Layer your coordinating Designer Series Paper for something a little different.
  • The back of your Designer Series Paper Packs, list all the coordinating colors.  How’s that for detail!
  • Add embellishments in odd groups of three or five.  Visually it will help balance your product.

Vellum Shadow Technique and Color Challenge

Thank goodness it is Friday and the weekend is almost here!

Over the last week or so, I am sure you noticed that I have not posted many projects, Stampin’ sales, digital downloads…etc at my website.

I want to let you know that I am going to try things a little differently.  I know many of you come here daily and want to see the latest and greatest that Stampin’ Up! has to offer.  But, frankly, it is difficult to post everything.

So in keeping with a sense of organization and a less confusing manner, I am only going to post projects, techniques, and other assorted inspiration, here on my website.

However, I want to let you know that my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/yourstampingteacher will be a hub of activity with  ideas, information and questions that I think that you would want to read. They will be different!  You are welcome to hop on over to my facebook page and “like” it  for up-to-dates and happenings.  If you are a demonstrator, please “like” my page from your personal account and I will be sure to “like” you back from my personal account.

Now,  for those folks that are Twitter fans,  (my newest addiction) head on over to my Twitter feed and follow me.    I will be sure to follow you back!  It doesn’t matter if you are a demonstrator, customer, or a person that found me by searching in Google, I’d LOVE to connect with you.

Now, I am sure you came to see the newest technique in my bag of tricks?!

Your Stamping Teacher Tip:  Use a darker cardstock behind the Vellum to showcase your Whisper White Pigment Ink.

How to do the Vellum Shadow Technique!

1.  Stamp your outlined image in Basic Gray or Basic Black on Vellum Cardstock.

2.  Turn it over and with your Sponge Dauber and Whisper White Pigment Ink, add to the back of your Vellum behind the flower image.

3.  Heat set.

4.  Adhere to your Pool Party Cardstock and then to your Smoky Slate cardstock base.

5.  Using a piece of Smoky Slate, stamp the sentiment of your choice in Whisper White.

6.  Stamp and punch a flower on Veluum cardstock from the Flower Shop, add dimensionals and a Crush Curry flower from Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

7.  Cut into the punched flower, add a Stampin’ Glue Dot and adhere to the sentiment.

8.  Add a rhinestone to the center of the flower.

August Thank You Card

Happy Monday morning, everyone!

Like you, the weekend is always half busy and half relaxing and this one was no exception.  I love to take the time during the summer to garden, check on the hives, and believe it or not, shop the farmer’s markets for organic produce and look for local  sources of grass fed beef, chicken, cheeses, breads….etc.  But, I also like to bake fresh biscotti and pick and cook the goodies from my garden.  I guess you could say that I am somewhat of a homebody.

Yesterday morning, the hubs and I took a bike ride through the Rail Trail here in Monroe.  The best part of this ride is that you can take it all the way down to Trumbull and back, roundtrip for 14.5 miles.  We have been doing this most Sunday mornings and to tell you the truth, the earlier we get out the better, since it makes for some very quiet time.  It is a nice break from my usual exercise routine.

Today’s card is totally Gorgeous Grunge with Four You.  It is my August Thank You card and it is yours if you place an order with me during this month.  The best part about this card is it is gender neutral.  Switch out the Thank You for Happy Birthday and you have a terrific masculine card.

Gorgeous Grunge Thank You
Up close you will notice the 7/16″ Trim, a burlap inspired ribbon made of flax and cotton.  I love the earthiness of this ribbon, don’t you?!  I just took a piece of it and folded it in half,  tied some linen thread around it and attached with glue dots.  (You don’t want your embellishments falling off your card, right?!)
Colors used were, Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla.

Look for the hostess code when placing your order for the month of August.  You can find it to the right under hostess code.  Be sure to use by the 28th of each month for the chance to earn hostess benefits!

Melon Mambo and Smoky Slate!

Yeah!  It’s Friday!

Today’s card is a summerlike combination and will make you smile.

Melon Mambo and Smoky Slate!

I’ve paired it with the Washi Tape from Gingham Garden and the Basic Gray Chevron Stripe Designer Series Paper from I Am Me.

Six Sided with Washi Tape

I cannot seem to get enough of the Washi Tape!  I love using it!  It is easy to work with and looks almost like a piece of Designer Series Paper.
