Make Your Own Paper!

Make Your Own Paper!

Have you ever wanted to make your own Designer Series Paper, but you weren’t sure where to start? This simple and easy technique has been around for a long time.

blue-cChristine’s Tips:

  • You could start with a piece of neutral cardstock, 3.5″ x 4.5″, to make one card.
  • If you wanted to stamp a larger piece, just use an 8.5″ x 11″ and stamp away.
  • Stamp off of the edges to achieve the texture that you want.  Here I used Penned and Painted for a watercolor look.
  • You can use just about any stamp set.  Mixed it up a bit and use solid images along with line images.
  • Keep your colors to a maximum of three.
  • Use darker ink for smaller images and lighter ink for larger images.

In Laid Technique

The In Laid Embossing Technique has been on the scene since the  Square Lattice Embossing Folder made its appearance a few years ago.

Just about any punched piece can be used to make the perfect background or focal point.

How I did it!

  1. Punch 8 -1″ squares in various coordinated cardstock.
  2. Adhere to Whisper White cardstock using SNAIL adhesive or Multi Purpose Adhesive.
  3. Run through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

Pansy Embellishment:

  1. Punch two pieces of cardstock using the Pansy Punch.
  2. Score down the middle of each petal.
  3. Cut along each petal to the middle.
  4. Crease each petal for dimension.
  5. Adhere together and add a Large Pearl in the center.

In Laid TechniqueYour Stamping Teacher Tip:

  • Be sure to stamp your envelopes.
  • Dimensions on this card are  5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • Use your Envelope Punch Board to make a custom envelope.
  • Sometimes you just don’t need a sentiment.  Change it up and let the front of the card speak for itself!
