This Pinterest inspired card brings on thoughts of Spring and the warmer weather! While the early flowers are starting to POP and the birds are chirping, getting outside is on my mind. The blue color palette is totally a Spring Thing!
I love the watercolored look, however, I always look at watercoloring with mixed emotions. You never really will have the same look twice, even when you really try.
I pulled out my Watercolor Paper, Aqua Painters and Lost Lagoon, Pool Party and Island Indigo and just started playing. Here’s the thing! That’s all you just have to do.
The BIGGEST tip I can give you! Make sure your paper has water on it. On this card, I did not go to the edges of the paper with the water. Even with the Aqua Painter, have a little cup of water handy. With the tray of your Ink Pad, mix water and a drop or two of your color. Here I started with Lost Lagoon and only added one drop to the tray. Beginning at the top, I only touched the Aqua Painter to the paper, letting the ink just roll through the paper. I then added a little more water to lighten the color. Tip: Keep a light hand on the darker inks. Remember, you can always add water to lighten it.
More BANG for your buck! An Aqua Painter, Watercolor Paper and Ink are probably three items you didn’t know you needed. Watercoloring is BIG right now! Give it a try!
